The Riches of the Glory of God’s Inheritance

Dr. Randy White

The Apostle Paul has a great prayer for the gentile believers at Ephesus, “that you may know…what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints” (Ephesians 1:18).  Has this prayer been answered? Is the gentile church aware of the riches of the glory of God’s inheritance? Sadly, I am afraid that we not only do not know of the riches of the glory of this inheritance, but we blatantly teach a complete fabrication of God’s inheritance. More…

Early American Awareness of Islamic Terrorism

Ambassador (ret.) Yoram Ettinger, "Second Thought”
"Israel Hayom”, September 28, 2012,http://bit.ly/S5HmoP

The American founding fathers and early scholars – since the 18th century – were aware of deeply-rooted Islamic violence, terrorism, intolerance and hatred toward other Muslims, as well as non-Muslims.

Early American leaders and thinkers were endowed with deep appreciation and unique knowledge of global history, international relations, ancient cultures, ideologies and religions.  They spoke and wrote candidly about global threats, including the Islamic threat.

In 1830, New York University Prof. George Bush, the great-granduncle of G.H.W. Bush, considered one of the most profound American scholars of the mid-19thcentury, published The Life of Mohammed.  He was not concerned about political correctness, was low on delusion and top heavy on realism.  His 1830 reference to the Islamic threat was consistent with the 2012 state of intra-Muslim atrocities, hate-education, tyranny, anti-US stormy Arab winter, intolerance of criticism, global Islamic terrorism in general and suicide bombing in particular.

According to Prof. Bush,  ”[Mohammed] promisedrobes of silks, marble palaces, groves and fountains andbeautiful virgins to those who fought for the faith…offering his enemies the alternative; the Koran or the sword…. It was inflamed by zeal for a religion which assured the soldier of victory now and paradise hereafter. The permanence of this religion is now apparently secured by education…in regions where freedom of thought is unknown (p. 155-6)….

“O prophet of God, I will beat out the teeth, pull out the eyes, rip open the bellies and cut off the legs of all who shall dare to oppose thee (pp. 36-37)…. [Muhammed] was cruel on principle. He did deliberately what other men do from impulse…. The ambition which tramples on the right of men to think or to live is the greatest of human crimes…. The sword is the key of heaven and hell. A drop of blood shed in the cause of God is of more avail than two months of fast and prayers. Whosoever falls in the battle his sins are forgiven… and the loss of his limbs shall be replaced by the wing of angels (103-4)…. Hatred of Christians and Jews is rooted in their hearts from childhood (p. 137)….

John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist church(1703-1791) preferred clarity over ambiguity when describing Islam: “Ever since the religion of Islam appeared in the world, the espousers of it… have been as wolves and tigers to all other nations, rending and tearing all that fell into their merciless paws…. Such was, and is at this day, the rage, the fury, the revenge, of these destroyers of human kind”.

Thomas Jefferson studied the Koran, to become more knowledgeable about a chief enemy – the Moslem Barbary pirates, who plundered American ships, enslaving Americans, demanding protection money and ransom for their release. During 1784-1789, while Jefferson (the 3rd US President) was ambassador to France and John Adams (the 2nd US President) was ambassador to England, they met with the Barbary Ambassador to London, in an attempt to stop the anti-US piracy.  Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman told them: “[Piracy] was founded on the laws of the Prophet, as it was written in the Koran; that all nations which had not acknowledged [Islam's] authority were sinners; that it was [the Moslem's] right and duty to make war upon them and enslave them as prisoners, and that every Muslim slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.”

John Quincy Adams, sixth US President (1825-1829), wrote after his presidency and before his election to Congress in 1830: “The precept of the Koran is perpetual war against all who deny that Mahomet is the prophet of God. The vanquished may purchase their lives, by the payment of tribute; the victorious may be appeased by a false and delusive promise of peace; and the faithful follower of the prophet, may submit to the imperious necessities of defeat: but the command to propagate the Moslem creed by the sword is always obligatory, when it can be made effective. [Mohamet] declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind….  Between [Christianity and Islam], thus contrasted in their characters, a war of twelve hundred years has already raged. The war is yet flagrant….” (Blunt, 29:274).

In 1916, Teddy Roosevelt observed: “Wherever the Mohammedans have had a complete sway, wherever the Christians have been unable to resist them by the sword, Christianity has ultimately disappeared” (ditto, Judaism, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism …).”

In 2012, US policy-makers should benefit from the experience of early US leaders and thinkers – whose observations have been vindicated by the recent turmoil in Arab lands - avoiding the lethal trap of political correctness in their assessment of the Islamic threat.

Is God Done with Jewishness?

Dr. Randy White

It is impossible to read the Old Testament and conclude anything other than the fact that God chose the nation of Israel and her people, the Jews, to be His chosen nation through whom He would accomplish His chosen task of walking among His created order.  This experience was realized just for a brief time in the Garden of Eden, but with the sin of Adam and Eve, the experience was lost, and the waiting for a Redeemer, the anointed Messiah to remedy the problem, began.  Through time, God chose Abraham and promised through him a great nation, one that would bless all the families of the world.  It was through this nation that God’s Messiah would establish God’s presence among men once again. Palestinian Poll: Mahmoud Abbas is Corrupt & Repressive

YNetNews.Com, Aryeh Savir
June 18, 2012

Palestinians believe their life under PA and Hamas rule is devoid of any real freedom, survey shows.

A poll recently published by the Ramallah-based Palestinian “Center for Policy and Survey Research (PCPSR)” reveals that the majority of Palestinian Arabs believe their government is corrupt, that there is no freedom of press under the Palestinian Authority and that Arabs living under Palestinian rule cannot freely criticize the PA without fear of retribution.

The poll was conducted separately among Arabs living in Gaza and Judea and Samaria. A total of 72.9% answered that there is corruption in PA institutions under the control of President Mahmoud Abbas. Some 61% said there is corruption in PA institutions under the control of the Hamas government in the Gaza Strip.

Only 23% believe that freedom of the press exists in the West Bank; 15% believe the same freedom exists in the Gaza Strip.

The majority of Palestinians believe that their life under PA and Hamas rule is devoid of any real freedom, yet they offer no alternative and desire no change. Only 27% think that the Palestinian Authority should be dissolved.

[The aforementioned findings are consistent with a poll - http://bit.ly/lgWVzX - which documents 40% of east Jerusalem Arabs likely to relocate to Israel if their neighborhood is transferred to the Palestinian Authority].

Survey held ahead of PA’s bid for statehood finds 35% of east Jerusalemites would opt to remain Israelis, 40% likely to move to Israel if their neighborhood became part of Palestine

The PA is currently facing a financial crisis. To solve it, 29% of Palestinians support forcing early retirement in the public sector, while 9% support increasing income tax. Answering the question: “If you think there are other options to solve the financial crisis confronting the PA, which of the following would you choose?” 52% said they supported returning to negotiations with Israel which would serve as a ruse to obtain further donor support from the West.

Some 45% believes that the first most vital Palestinian goal should be to end “Israeli occupation” and build a state, and 32% believe it should be to obtain the right of return. Some 28% believe the first problem confronting Palestinians today is poverty and unemployment, while 25% think it is the continuation of “Israeli occupation” and 23% think it is the absence of national unity.

Meanwhile, 62% of respondents said Israel’s long-term plans are to extend the borders of the State of Israel to cover all the area between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea and expel its Arab citizens. Another 21% said that Israel plans to annex the entire West Bank and deny the Arabs any rights.

This notion may lead to the following opinion expressed by the majority of Palestinians: 39% of all Palestinian Arabs, and 55% of Gazans, support a return to what they call “armed resistance,” that is, terrorism. Some 47% of all Palestinian Arabs, and 62% of Gazans, support armed attacks against Israeli civilians inside Israel, as opposed to the allegedly legitimate attacks against Israelis outside the Green Line who they believe deserve these attacks for serving as occupiers.

Yet in the context of the rocket war in Gaza and southern Israel, positive evaluation of conditions in the West Bank dropped from 47% to 31%, and positive evaluation of conditions in the Gaza Strip dropped from 26% to 13%. In general, 44.7% describe conditions of Palestinians in the Palestinian areas in the Gaza Strip these days as “bad,” and 25.2% describe them as “very bad.”

Finally, more than half of Palestinians (51%) believe that Arab revolts will have a positive impact on the Palestinian cause, while only 22% believe that they will have a negative impact.

The Coming Kingdom, Part 5

Dr. Andy Woods-Sugar Land Bible Church

Part 12, 3, 4

Because today’s evangelical world largely believes that the church is presently experiencing the messianic kingdom, we began a study chronicling what the Bible teaches concerning this important issue of the kingdom. That there will be a future, messianic kingdom on earth has been revealed thus far through the divine intention to restore the office of Theocratic Administrator (Gen. 1:26-28) that was lost in Eden (Gen. 3). Likewise, the promise of a future, earthly, messianic reign was prophesied in the Abrahamic Covenant (Gen. 15) and related sub-covenants. While these covenants guarantee that the kingdom will one day come to the earth through Israel, according to the Mosaic Covenant, the kingdom’s ultimate manifestation is conditioned upon the nation’s acceptance of Christ as her long-awaited king during the events of the future Tribulation period.
